Kathi Dawn (Garza) Overhulser, 55, of Staunton, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Overhulser was born on August 27, 1957 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Dean C. Garza and Genevieve (Howdyshell) Garza.

Kathi was previously employed by the Canteen Vending Service in Verona. She loved to cook, was an avid NASCAR and Dale Jarrett fan, loved the Redskins and enjoyed fun times on the beach in Nags Head.

In addition to her mother and her husband, Edward Eddie Overhulser both of Staunton, is a son, Bryan Boyd of Staunton; four brothers, Jeff Garza and his fiance Donna Snyder of Staunton, Scott Garza of Washington, DC, Mike Nickell and his wife Heidi of Staunton and Buster Nickell and his wife Roberta of Sandy Hook, KY; two grandchildren, Zachary Bryan Boyd and Jacob Jones; many nieces and nephews; a beloved friend, Pauline Painter of Greenville; and her pet cat Monkey.

At Mrs. Overhulsers request, all services will be private.

It is suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Regional S.P.C.A., 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
