Katherine Ray (Meeks) Welcher, 75, wife of Phillip Lee Welcher, of 378 Frontier Drive, Staunton, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Welcher was born on February 28, 1946 in Staunton, Virginia, daughter of the late Myrle Elizabeth (Ashby) Meeks.

In addition to her mother, Katherine was preceded in death by her brother, Edward H. Meeks.

Mrs. Welcher was retired from Genesco and enjoyed watching Reverend Charles Stanley on TV.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 45 years, are two sons, Walter Thomas "Tom" Rivenback, Jr. and his wife Becky and Dwayne E. Rivenback and girlfriend Melinda Helmick both of Staunton; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and her pet dog and furry friend "Moo Moo".

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Thornrose Cemetery by Reverend William Trice.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Field, B.J. Weaver, David Howdyshell, Brandon Grant, William Brown, and Trent Carey.
