Karen Elaine Cox, 74, widow of Jack Cox, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mrs. Cox was born in La Junta, Colorado on October 4, 1948, a daughter of the late Francis Dean Morlan and Irene (Rouse) Morlan.

Karen was selfless, loving, made those around her feel special, and brought the best out of everyone. She was family oriented and had a hand in raising and taking care of each family member. Karen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was the true matriarch of her family. Sunday dinners were held at Mimi's house where she was the centerpiece of the table. Mrs. Cox loved God and was a faithful and strong servant.

Surviving, are three daughters, Brenda Overbey, Tami Holbert and her husband, Mike, and Heather May and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Mickie Holbert (Abbie), Morgan Sanchez (Austin), Cheyenne Lewis (Alvin), Sierra Rankin (Nathan), Jack May (Cameron), and Hadley May; great-grandchildren, Channing Holbert, Gabriel Sanchez, Asher Sanchez, Elliot Rankin and Baby Lewis; her siblings, Susan Petersen, Terry Morlan and his wife, Linda, and Keith Morlan and his wife, Diane; and a special friend, Peggy Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Charles Perkins.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
