Judy Lane (Sprouse) Martin, 68, wife of W. Wayne Martin, Sr. of 71 West Craig Street passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Martin was born on February 28, 1947 in Augusta Springs, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Sr. and Lorraine (Goff) Sprouse.
Judy attended Proclaim Ministries Church, she was a housewife, a member of the Craigsville Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years where she served as secretary/ treasurer, and the Craigsville Volunteer Rescue Squad for 13 years. She enjoyed reading, taking rides looking at wildlife scenery, observing deer and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary D. Sprouse and Thomas E. Sprouse, Jr.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 34 years, are five sons, Steven L. Sprouse and his fiance Sandy, William W. Billy Martin and wife Ellen, Timmy J. Martin, Daniel L. Danny Martin and wife Teresa and Tracy S. Martin and wife Beth, all of Craigsville; four daughters, Roxanna M. Mitchell and husband Bill of Churchville, Deborah E. Phillips of Staunton, Janice M. Moyer and husband Jeff of Bluffton, S.C. and Pamela S. Jamison and husband Phil of Craigsville; a granddaughter whom she raised and treated like her own, Erica Hammer and husband Cory; two sisters Kathy L. Griffin of Staunton and Betty L. Hostetter and husband Tommy of Craigsville; an adopted son, Wayne Hupman of Staunton; an uncle, Theodore Sprouse of Stuarts Draft; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Pam Campbell, Debbie Sensabaugh, Carolyn Gordon, Pat Ergenbright, Janet Johnson and Jodi Fitzgerald; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friend Tuesday evening, October 6, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olivia Haney.
Burial will follow in Craigsville Community Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Craigsville Volunteer Fire Department, Jason Byram, Christopher Gordon, Noel McManaway, Kenny Randozzo, David Stokes and Kevin Burke.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Buffalo Gap High School class of 1965, Mitch Reynolds, Kegan Knott, Jed Thomas and Ronald Colvin.
