Judy Mae (Eckard) Coffey, 55, wife of Paul T. Coffey of 161 Maine Circle, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Coffey was born June 11, 1955 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Dennis Boyd and Cora Rebecca (Pickerall) Eckard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant children, Kimberly Dawn and Paul Anthony Coffey.
Judy was employed by Unifi for 35 years and most recently with Augusta Health as a clerk. She was a very dedicated and active volunteer with Relay for Life.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Matthew Thomas Coffey and his companion, Kari L. Hilton of Churchville; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol R. Ray and husband Jason of Waynesboro; two brothers, Dennis Eckard of Staunton and Danny Eckard of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Diana Adams of Greenville and Vickie Eckard of Staunton; seven grandchildren, Dylan and Drake Coffey, Faith Offenbacker, Zoe, Kris, Logan and Keiran Ray and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Gary Hodges.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Botkin, Charles Hodge, Jason Ray, Billy Cale, James Cale and William Cale, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 420 Neff Ave. Suite 210, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
