Juanita Frances (Tedder) Smith, 68, wife of Nelson O. Smith, of 32 Miller Farm Road, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born January 25, 1946, in Lexington, a daughter of the late Dorsey Edward Clark and Lucy Mae (Smith) McDaniel.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by a brother, Dorsey Carlyle Clark; a sister Louise Thomas; and two grandchildren, Krisha Dawn Wetzel and Derek Shane Wetzel.
Juanita enjoyed playing Bingo, camping, and vacations to Charles Town and Tennessee.
In addition to her husband, whom she married on June 7, 1980, survivors include three sons, Mark Allen Wetzel and wife Melissa of Churchville, Michael Dwayne Wetzel and friend Sandy Rankin of Staunton, and John Edward Wetzel and wife Mikki of Verona; a daughter, Julie Mae Stroop and husband R.B. of Weyers Cave; three brothers, Robert Woodrow Tedder of Satellite Beach, FL, Allen Clark and Carl Clark, both of Buena Vista; three sisters, Kathleen Floyd of Buchanan, Jannie Fitzgerald of Raphine, and Faye Ferguson of Natural Bridge; a special cousin, Frances Cavender of Lugoff, SC; ten grandchildren, Shaun Wetzel, Jessica Wetzel, Tiffany Britt, Shalana Lambert, Justin Lambert, Jason Wetzel, Lizz Coffey, Joshua Johnson, Shane Wetzel, and Taia Wetzel; eight great grandchildren, Tyler Wetzel, Wyatt Britt, Walker Britt, Jossalynn Hartman, Zane Johnson, Kayleigh Johnson, Blake Coffey, and Lailynn Culpeper; two step grandchildren, Ashley Stroop and Blake Stroop; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Debra Colbert Cline.
Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista.
Active pallbearers will be Shawn Talley, Troy Fitzgerald, Billy Koiner, David Fomby, Larry Falls, and David Lambert
