Joyce Roslyn "Sis" (Moore) McCrory, 89, wife of William F. "Bill" McCrory of Raphine, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Staunton Post Acute and Rehab in Staunton.

Mrs. McCrory was born in Staunton, Virginia on December 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Everette S. and Mary S. Moore. She married Bill on July 16, 1960 and shared 64 happy years together.

Joyce retired from Walter's Wholesale as a bookkeeper. She was a 1955 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene University.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCrory was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel, Robert, James and Donald Moore; and two sisters, Nannette Dedrick and Mary Katherine "Kitty" Nelligan.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 64 years, is a son, Darrell L. McCrory of Greenville; a daughter, Janet (McCrory) Killingsworth and her husband, David of Staunton; a grandson, Billy Snyder and his wife, Beth; a great-granddaughter, Haley Snyder and her fiancé, Ty; three step-great-granddaughters, Taylor, Trinity, and Dottie; one great-great-grandson, Carson D. Ragan; a sister, Juanita (Moore) Poole and her husband, Wallace of Rockbridge Baths; a brother, William N. Moore of New York; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor Derek Almarode.

The family would like to express a sincere "Thank you" to her caregivers at Staunton Post Acute and Rehab and especially Diane, Anita and Amy with Legacy Hospice.
