Joyce S. Manley
RAPHINE:
Joyce Lee (Smiley) Manley, 71, widow of Anthony Shane Manley of 188 Old Back Road, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Manley was born on January 5, 1944 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Benson) Smiley.
Joyce was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and was retired from Western State Hospital with 24 years of service. Mrs. Manley did foster care with People Places, she enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, traveling, reading her Bible and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, Frederick J. Heath and his wife Carla of Verona, Edward O. Heath and his wife Tammie of Clarksville, TN and Shannon L. Heath of Raphine; a sister, Sylvia McCauley and her husband Rick of Staunton; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Branden, Amanda, Christa, Raven, Brittany, Ashley and Samantha; five great-grandchildren, Janey, Brayden, Haley, Kay and Elijah; a nephew, A.J. Carpenter; two nieces, Angela Brady and Julie Jones; and two pet dogs, Tyke and Baby Girl.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John M. Ward.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Rodney Wood, Allen Francis, Ken Plecker, Jon Lawhorn, Jeramia Jones, Bradley Shiflett, Tony Ray and Branden Heath.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Service Center, 1001 Mt. Torrey Road, Lyndhurst, Virginia 22952.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
