(Dalinger) Doyle
August 30, 1948 – December 24, 2022
Joyce Marie (Dalinger) Doyle, 74, widow of Calvin Mustoe Doyle, Jr., of Orchard Road, Staunton, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 in the Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.
Mrs. Doyle was born in Staunton, Virginia on August 30, 1948 biological daughter of the late Edward Dalinger and Helen Frances Shoemaker and chosen daughter of Robert and Helen (Knott) Howdyshell.
Joyce was retired from Western State Hospital as a Ward Secretary. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Doyle was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Howdyshell and Boyd Howdyshell; and three sisters, Ethel Warren, Anna Howdyshell and Dorothy Craig.
Surviving is a son, James D. Doyle and his wife Amy of Staunton; three grandchildren, Langdon and Lakin Doyle and Jacob Greer; a brother, Jerry Dalinger of Felton, Pennsylvania; a special sister-in-law, Brenda Hupman and her husband Doug of Staunton; two brothers-in-law, Gary E. Doyle of Huddleston, Virginia and Edward Lee Thompson of Mayland, Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Strickler.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Phil Mohler, Keith Maclam, Bobby Hupman, David Hupman, Chris Kendall, Doug Depriest, David Howdyshell and Mike Grogg.
The family wishes to express a sincere and heartfelt "Thank You" to David Howdyshell, Shelby Riley, Mike and Norma Grogg, Brenda Marshall, The Girl Crew at Western State Hospital and Kim Botkin (Physical Therapist) and staff at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
