Josh Shannon Thompson, 28, of 129 South Waverly Street, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Thompson was born November 18, 1980 in Waynesboro, son of Phyllis Lynn Thompson.

Josh was employed as a Support Manager with Wal-Mart in Harrisonburg for 11 years, he attended Robert E. Lee High School, he enjoyed electronics, computers and his special pet dog Brooke.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his maternal grand parents, Mr. James Thompson and Mrs. Flavie M. Thompson Weese.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Staunton are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jennifer R. Smith and her husband Donald and Ashley Naomi Thompson all of Staunton; four uncles, James S. Thompson of Stuarts Draft, Cecil G. Thompson of Harrisonburg, Larry W. Thompson and Michael C. Thompson both of Staunton; step-grandfather, Thornton Weese of Grottes and many cousins and special friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Terry Adkins and Cecil Hutching.

Burial will follow in the Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009 in the funeral home and other times at his residence.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Lovelace, John Mongold, John Davis, Raymond Wells, Kenny Woodson and Tony Crawford.
