Josephine May (Horn) Bobug DePriest, 78, widow of Irvin Allen DePriest of 1616 Buick Street passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. DePriest was born October 15, 1936 in Craigsville, a daughter of the late Herman and Janie (Thornton) Horn.
Josephine was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Food Lion where she was employed in the deli. She enjoyed singing, dancing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Mrs. DePriest loved her family and valued the time she spent with them. Mrs. DePriest was known for her very strong work ethic.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. DePriest was preceded in death by a son, Bennie H. Howdyshell and a sister, Barbara Troubles Bennett.
Surviving are two sons, Danny Howdyshell and David Howdyshell both of Staunton; a daughter, Teresa Moree and her husband Dwight of FL; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Cuartas and her husband Camilo, Christopher Moree, Keith Moree, Bennie Howdyshell, III, Bryce Howdyshell, Tony Hason and T.J. Hason; two great grandchildren, Blake Moree and Alixandra Cuartas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor John Ward.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Judson, Dr. Kyler, Mike Marshall, Hospice nurse, Laura Summy and social worker, Kathy Anderson.
