Joseph Benjamin Joe Stone, 85, formerly of Dennison Avenue passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Stone was born on January 31, 1931 in Staunton, a son of John Wesley and Clara (Wiseman) Stone.

Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Staunton Moose Lodge #1635. Prior to his retirement in 1991, Mr. Stone was employed at American Safety Razor with thirty-six years of service.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was preceded in death by five brothers, Buck Stone, Arthur Stone, Dan Stone, Tommy Stone and William Stone; and two sisters, Dorothy Bolt and Margarete Roane.

Surviving is a daughter, Brenda Kay Barnes and her husband; two grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Lou Roberts, BeBe Pope, Isabelle Thompson and Paula Hendy; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, James T. Taliaferro his wife Linda also survive.

At the request of Mr. Stone, there will no funeral service.
