Johnnie Franklin Cox, 70, of Raphine, went to his home in heaven on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Cox was born in Staunton, Virginia on January 8, 1955 a son of the late Roy William Cox and Goldie Stokes Cox.
Johnnie was a graduate of Buffalo Gap High School, class of 1974. He was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed his time in the service and the ability it gave him to travel. Following his time in the Army, Johnnie worked in construction until health issues forced him to quit. He later retired from Plygem (Alcoa) in Stuarts Draft. Johnnie was a member of the Waynesboro Elks Lodge and the Waynesboro Moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela F. Cox; the mother of his children, Brenda Dickerhoof Cox; and a sister-in-law, B.J. Cox.
Surviving, are two daughters, Kelly S. Cox and Jenny M. Cox; four grandchildren, Logan H. Cox, Christopher N. Cox Thompson, MacKenzie L. Cox, and Aiden M. Kiser; a great-granddaughter, Paisley C.K. Campbell; his twin brother, Jimmie Cox and his wife, Beverly; brother, Billy Cox; a sister, Linda Thompson; a special cousin, Donna Harris; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Per Johnnie's wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
Burial will be private.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
