Johnathan William Toomey, 33, passed unexpectedly at home in Staunton, Va. on August 6, 2022.

Johnathan is survived by his Mother and stepfather Dawn (Chuck) Thompson, brother Daniel Clawson, sister Eryn (Gary) Paxton, beloved nephew Brayden, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and coworkers.

Johnathan was born on January 19, 1989 in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts on the Island of Martha's Vineyard and he later spent his childhood growing up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, attended Governors School for performing arts, and he even earned a scholarship to attend VCU to study his passion of acting. Johnathan loved adventure and traveling and moved around the country pursuing his dreams and developing many close friendships. He eventually settled in Staunton, Va. and has been working the last several years as a dedicated office manager.

Johnathan will be remembered not only for being a talented actor, but also for his passion for animals (especially his dogs), his love and sense of duty to his family, and his eclectic taste for music, films, video games, and art.

Most of all, Johnathan will be missed for his infectious charisma and his ability to inspire those around him to be their best selves. He took pride in being independent, self-sufficient, and overcoming challenges in his life. He loved deeply and profoundly, and his absence leaves a void that will be felt far and wide.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Staunton Grace Covenant Church by Pastor Steve Paulus.
