John Emmett Southworth

John Emmett (Jack) Southworth, 84, husband of Nancy (Olsen) Southworth of Stuarts Draft, Virginia died Sunday, (September 7, 2008) at his residence.
Mr. Southworth was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on April 25, 1924, a son of the late John E., Sr. and Marguerite (Crimm) Southworth.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Southworth was employed by the B \u0026 O / Chessie System Railroad and the Association of American Railroads. He was a member of the Finley Memorial Presbyterian Church, an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. Southworth was a U.S. Navy Veteran of distinction of WWII.
In addition to his wife, to whom he was married on August 14, 1948, survivors include four sons, Daniel R. Southworth of Columbia, Maryland, Steven R. Southworth of Windsor Mill, Maryland, John A. Southworth of Atlanta, Georgia and James A. Southworth of Mt. Airy, Maryland; a daughter, Kathryn (Kay) Southworth of Alexandria, Virginia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive.
A private memorial service was conducted in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Sally O. Robinson. Burial will also be private.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton was in charge of the arrangements.
