John Christopher Chris Shiflet, 47, husband of Jennifer (Hall) Shiflet, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Shiflet was born on March 18, 1967, in Waynesboro, a son of the late David Henry and Juanita (Thomas) Shiflet.
Chris was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Stuarts Draft. He worked as a superintendent at Design Electric for 30 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and hiking with his family. Chris was an avid fan of UVA Athletics, especially basketball. His greatest passion in life was his wife, children, and sweet granddaughter. He lived his faith by doing all that he could to help everyone he knew and sharing the Bibles hope for the future with others.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Shiflet is survived by a son, Brandon Shiflet; a daughter, Kaylyn Ramsey; a brother, David Shiflet; a sister, Amanda Archie; a granddaughter, Kyndall Ramsey; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Kenneth Kurpik.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
