John Curtis Cash, 91, husband of the late Helen Rowe Cash, of Staunton passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Summit Square in Waynesboro.
Mr. Cash was born on April 23, 1930 in Augusta County, a son of the late Dreno Fulton Cash and Carrie Gertrude (Moran) Cash.
Curtis was an active member of Jollivue United Methodist Church. He was born and raised on the Cash Farm and graduated from Wilson Memorial High School. Mr. Cash was a veteran of the United States Army and was a self-employed truck driver and a farmer all of his life.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Cash was preceded in death by a brother Dreno "Junior" Cash and a son, Ralph Eugene Rexrode.
Surviving is a daughter, Vicki Mausen and her husband John; "second daughter" Karen Breuer of Queens, NY; grandchildren, Sarah Blackwell Palmateer and her husband Scott of Naples, FL, Bethany Blackwell Arevalo and husband Francisco of Waynesboro, VA, Chad Blackwell of Fairfield, VA, and David Snyder of California; one great- grandson Farid Malaab; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved companion, Bailey the cat.
The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Jollivue United Methodist Church by Pastor Carrie Moffitt.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Roderick "Rick" Rowe, Farid Malaab, John Wayne Rowe, Wayne Troyer, Neal Hewitt, and Earl Rowe.
The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Square Retirement Community for their kindness and the loving hands that cared for Curtis.
