Joanne Marie Joan (Neary) McHone, 62, wife of Dennis Wayne McHone, of 277 Lake Drive, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at her residence after a twenty year battle with cancer.
Mrs. McHone was born on January 6, 1952, in Richland Center, WI, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Honer) Neary.
Joan was an amazing lady who never had a bad thing to say about anyone and found the positive in every situation. She was a wonderful cook, an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, camping, and canning. Raising her family was her biggest priority and joy. Joan taught her family and friends important lessons in life: No matter what battles come before you, you can push through it because life is worth living. She loved angels, and now, she is an angel.
In addition to her loving husband of forty three years, Joan is survived by a son, Gregory Dennis McHone of Richland Center, WI; three daughters, Dawn Maria McHone of Richland Center, WI, Christine Ann Leatherberry and her husband Gary of Poynette, WI, and Dana Margaret Durst and her husband Brad of Richland Center, WI; a brother, Michael T. Neary of LaValle, WI; five sisters, Margaret Neary of Lodi, WI, Helen Frank of Reedsburg, WI, Anne Meyer of Hill Point, WI, Rita Koch of Cazenovia, WI, and Kathleen Johnson of LaValle, WI; ten grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014, in the St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014, in the St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church by Father Loren Bowens with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, VA is in charge of her arrangements.
