(Turner) Mowbray
November 11, 1930 – September 13, 2022
Jo Ann (Turner) Mowbray, 91, widow of James Franklin Mowbray, formerly of Spaulding Street, Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in Waynesboro.
Mrs. Mowbray was born in Roanoke, Virginia on November 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph S. Turner and Edith (Childress) Turner.
Jo Ann was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she attended the Joy Sunday School Class. She retired from Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation District where she worked as a Secretary. She loved her family and was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Mowbray was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Turner.
Surviving, is a son, Dale F. Mowbray of Staunton; three daughters, Patricia M. "Pat" Campbell and her husband Danny of Churchville, Karen M. Hoover and her husband David of Swoope and Julie M. Miller and her husband Jerry of Defiance, Ohio; a brother, David Turner and his wife Kay of Florida; a sister, Jean (Turner) Flora of Maryland; eleven grandchildren, Rev. Michael Campbell, Jan C. Dunlap and her husband Keith, Jennifer Hoover, Joshua Wilson and his wife Jenna, Jacob Wilson, Sarah Dimock and her husband Caleb, Kellsee Brewer and her husband Aaron, Amanda Bose and her husband Jon, Bekah Miller, Katie Miller, and Abbie Miller; nine great-grandchildren, Bayleigh, Rylee, Lyra, Sonny, Sid, Jerry, Ivy, Elliott, and Mia; a number of nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Memorial Baptist Church by Reverend Todd Latham and Reverend Michael Campbell.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Great Hall.
Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.
It is suggested, that those desiring, make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942 or Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Taylor Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
