Jimmy Roger Jim Lovegrove, 78, husband of Arlene Virginia (Jackson) Lovegrove, of 251 William Cousins Road, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 in Staunton.

Mr. Lovegrove was born on December 21, 1935 in Staunton, a son of the late William Taft and Emma (Earhart) Lovegrove.

Mr. Lovegrove was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and owner of Lovegrove Construction, Inc. Mr. Lovegrove was on the Board of Directors of Loudoun Mutual Insurance Company and a member of Staunton Moose Lodge. He had a strong work ethic, loved his politics and was an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Lovegrove.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 48 years is a son, Dr. Patrick Scott Lovegrove of Charleston. SC; two brothers, Edward Buster Lovegrove and wife Rebecca of Swoope and Donald Lovegrove and wife Glenda of Billerica, MA; two sisters, Diane L. Withers and husband John of Staunton and Debbie Scott and husband Blake of Greenville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.

A Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Andrew Salcedo.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be his brother, Edward L. Lovegrove, and his employees Warren A. Coffman, William E. Gilmer, Thomas A. Fisher, Ronald S. Hiner, Paul B. Wright, Garry L. Pittman and Brian P. Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn D. Hackney, Jordon E. Davis, Melissa Coffman and Debbie Fisher.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
