Jimmie McGrady Painter, Sr., 86, of Staunton, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021.

Mr. Painter was born in Rockbridge County, on June 4, 1935, a son of the late John L. Painter, Sr. and Edith (Lawhorn) Painter.

Mr. Painter was a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Painter was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Smiley; a son, Robert "Fish" Painter; three brothers, John Painter, Kinny Lawhorn, and Lovelle Painter and a sister, Darlene VonAllen.

Jimmie is survived by two sons, Jimmie "Mack" Painter, Jr. of Waynesboro and Michael "Mike" Painter of Staunton; a daughter, Debbie Blackwell of Crimora; a sister, Linda Downs of Mississippi; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
