Jewell Yvonne (Campbell) Hawkins, 80, widow of Kendall Blair Hawkins, of 45 Penrose Lane, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer, at her residence.
Mrs. Hawkins was born on July 20, 1934, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Henry Gilbert and Fairyb Catherine (Adams) Campbell.
Jewell retired in 1998 from Augusta Health as a nurse. She enjoyed Virginia Tech football, going to yard sales, doing yard work, working in her gardens, and had a very special love for her animals.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Campbell and a sister, Joan Taliferro.
Jewell is survived by four sons, Ricky Hawkins and wife, Tina of Goochland, Robby Hawkins of Mountain Top, PA, Randy Hawkins of Verona, and Rodney Hawkins and wife, Kristina of Marlborough, MA; two daughters, Terry Hawkins of Staunton and Paige Losh and husband, Allan of Churchville; two brothers, H.G. Campbell of Staunton and Jerome Campbell of Roanoke; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren also survive.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private at Pleasant View Cemetery.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to charity of ones choice.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
