Jess E. Richardson, Jr., 61, husband of Deborah (Harris) Richardson of Jonesborough, TN., passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Richardson was born on March 3, 1955 at Fort Monroe Army Post, Virginia, a son of the late Jess Ernest Richardson, Sr. \u0026 Juanita May Bailey Richardson.
Jess was a retired Air Force Veteran serving as an Avionics Specialist. He served 10 years on the maintenance crew on Air Force One, serving with Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. Jess retired in 2009 from the Department of Defense as an Information System Engineer at the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonia, Texas.
Mr. Richardson was an avid Genealogy Researcher, loved music and traveling.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Jonesborough, TN., is a brother, Roger Richardson and his wife Carmen; a sister, Sonja Hollis and her husband Dave; a nephew, Seth Richardson; two nieces, Jessica Richardson and Sarah Hollis; a brother-in-law, Joe R. Harris and his wife Faye; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Callison and her husband Dave and Mary Harris Jones and her husband Bobby; an aunt, Sue Bailey; an uncle, Herman Bailey; special cousins, Estel \u0026 Helen Lamb; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Michael Lamb with special comments by Carter Walker.
Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stuarts Draft.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
