Jeanne M. (Matthews) Harrington, 86, widow of John Winfield Harrington of Autumn Lane, Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Harrington was born August 31, 1925 in New Jersey, a daughter of the late John Knight Matthews and Eleanor Margaret (Lewis) Matthews.

Mrs. Harrington attended Oceanville Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harrington was preceded in death by her son, John T. Harrington and wife Marta and son Brian D. Harrington and a sister, Nancy Milne.

Mrs. Harrington is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving is a son, Steven P. Harrington and his wife Darlene of Herndon and a daughter, Susan T. Windsor of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Henderson, Trevor Harrington, Dawn Hagewood, Jason Harrington, John Andrew Harrington, Matthew Harrington, Amanda Mooreland, Megan Windsor and Steven Windsor; six great-grandchildren, Ian Henderson, Brandon Henderson, Dawson Hagewood, Dylan Hagewood, Austin Rye and Levi Windsor also survive.

A private service will be held at a later date in Maine.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
