Janet Kaye (Rankin) Nuckoles, 74, widow of Stephan C. Nuckoles, Sr., of Staunton passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mrs. Nuckoles was born in Waynesboro, Virginia on October 30, 1950, a daughter of the late George Benjamin Rankin and Pauline Mae (Hyden) Rankin.

Janet was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was also employed there as a custodian for 39 years. She enjoyed shopping, especially at Cracker Barrel and Hobby Lobby and having breakfast at Kathy's.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Nuckoles was preceded in death by a son, Stacey Lee Nuckoles; a brother, Connie Lee Rankin; and a sister, Ellen R. Grant.

Surviving, are two sisters, Gloria R. McQuain of Fishersville and Brenda R. Whetsell and her husband, Tom of Mt. Olive, NC; two grandchildren, Brittany and Tiffany Nuckoles; a sister-in-law, Jatanna Rankin of Verona; a number of nieces and nephews including, Kimberly Humphreys and Jessica Guy and her husband, Brandon; and a great-nephew, Hudson Pullin.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory. Casual dress is encouraged.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Won Un.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Forrest Shuey, David Puffenberger, Jeremiah Maclam, Adam Maclam, Kenneth Shover and Brandon Guy.

It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee  38105-1942.
