Janet Lee (Landes) Miller, 75, widow of Lee Carlton Jack Miller, of 20 Frontier Court, Apt. 5202 and formerly of Greenville, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Miller was born September 5, 1938 in Greenville, a daughter of the late William Henry Daniel and Lillian Mason (Colvin) Landes.
Janet was a member of Pines Chapel; she was a housewife, enjoyed cooking, baking, caring for her pets, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 41 years, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by a son, Doug Carlton Miller; a sister, Ann Carver; and three brothers, Russell Landes, Elmer Landes, and Ed Landes.
Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters; Cathy S. Miller of Staunton, who was also her caregiver, and Debbie L. Fitzgerald and husband Richard of Stuarts Draft; a special grandson, Brad Robertson; a sister-in-law, Betty Landes, who along with her late husband Ed raised Mrs. Miller; numerous nieces and nephews and her pet dogs Heidi and Benji also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory; and other times at the residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery by her nephew, Terry Miller.
Active pallbearers will be her grandson Brad Robertson, nephews Gary Miller, D.W. Miller, Danny Landes, Jeff Marks, and Tommy Roadcap.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, Dr. H. Lynn Moore, and Penny Cash for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Miller during her illness.
