James Lusby Reese, 71, husband of Jannie Ellen (Painter) Reese, of Stagecoach Road, Staunton, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Reese was born in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Lusby Whiteside Reese and Julia Mae (Painter) Reese.

Mr. Reese was retired from Target and he enjoyed attending auctions of all kinds.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, James is survived by two sons, David L. Reese and his wife Kelley of Salem, Virginia and Scott A. Reese of Staunton; and two grandsons, Gavin Reese and Griffin Reese.

Burial will be private in New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Raphine.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
