James Orten Mayberry, Sr., 70, husband of Wanda Mayberry of 815 Robertson Street, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Mayberry was born on May 1, 1947 in Clifton Forge, a son of the late James Harrison and Doris May (McMullen) Mayberry.
James attended Craigsville St. Paul United Methodist Church and retired from PlyGem, where he was employed as a machine operator for over thirty years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing where he won many tournaments, and also enjoyed boating on Lake Anna. When he was at home, James would take great pride in his family, home, and especially loving his family. He was an excellent care giver for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mayberry was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Mayberry.
Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-seven years, is a son, James O. Mayberry, Jr. of Churchville; two daughters, Stacey Stitzman and her husband Bret of California and Jessica Rankin and her husband Tim of Staunton; two grandchildren, Madison Mayberry and Noah Stitzman; two great-grandchildren, Kaylea and Kelsey Rankin; and a brother, John Mayberry of Millboro.
A celebration of life will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mary Pysell.
