James Frazier Jim Lambert, Sr., 80, husband of Mary (Shifflett) Squirrley Lambert of 1529 New Hope Road, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, March 2, 2018 surrounded by family and friends and those he loved.
Mr. Lambert was born on January 6, 1938 in Swoope, a son of the late Lawrence Charles and Pauline (Myers) Lambert.
James was formerly a Deputy Sheriff for the Augusta County Sheriffs Office for many years and retired from Daikin, formerly McQuay, after 55 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing in the mountains of Swoope with his brothers and nephews. James was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and going with them to his favorite restaurant.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Alexander Lambert; a brother, Lawrence Junior Lambert; two sisters, Hazel (Lambert) Barbee and Pauline Muck Lambert; and a very special beloved pet, Shelbie Lynn Lambert.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 60 years, is a son, James F. Jimmy Lambert, Jr. and partner, Gary Terry of Staunton; a daughter, Shawn (Lambert) Graham and her husband Kevin of Deerfield; a granddaughter, Jordan M. Graham and her fianc, Justin McCray of Deerfield; a grandson, Joshua M. Graham of Deerfield; two great- grandchildren, Carson Alexander Lee McCray and Brendan Michael Gutshall-McCray, both of Deerfield; two brothers, Boyd Punk Lambert of Stuarts Draft and Billy A. Lambert and his wife Judy Lambert of Staunton; a special niece, Reba (Lambert) Bright; and a number of nieces and nephews; and a beloved pet, Sweetpea also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
