Obituary

James Michael LaClair, 74, of Lexington, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

Mr. LaClair was born on January 17, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of the late James Octave LaClair and Lillian Mae (Brinkley) LaClair.

James served in the United States Navy and was employed by Blizzard Transport as a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca L. Sutton.

Surviving are two daughters, Candace LaClair Broughman (Jason Balsamo) of Lexington, and Jennifer M. LaClair of Mint Spring; six grandsons, Jonathan LaClair, Jeremy Whitlock (Courtney), Ethan Whitlock (Skyllar), Seth Strother, Shawn Fitzgerald (Jasmine), and Ryan Fitzgerald; four great-grandchildren, Kaidynce, Harlyn, Hudsyn, and Oakley; and a brother, Jerry W. LaClair of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

A Celebration of life will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Chuck Balsamo.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
