James Thomas J.T. Myrtle, 74, husband of Margaret M. Myrtle of 3778 Cold Springs Road, passed away, Monday, July 13, 2015 in Staunton.

Mr. Myrtle was born on August 19, 1940 in Augusta County, a son of the late Elmer Ray and Ethel Virginia (Harvey) Myrtle.

J.T. was a veteran of the United States Air Force, he was owner operator of Wall Residences as an Adult Service Provider. J.T. was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering for all Ford drivers and their team members and he enjoyed traveling with his wife.

In addition to hisparents, Mr. Myrtle was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Marie Pozenel.

Surviving in addition to his wife of twenty-nine years are two daughters, Candace L. Broughman and her husband J.B. of Greenville and Jennifer M. Bennett of Mint Spring; a sister, Fay M. Coffman and her husband Richard of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Jeremy, Ethan, Seth, Shawn and Ryan; a special cousin, Elaine Moran of Greenville and a number of nieces and nephews, also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.

A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 in the First Church of the Nazarene by Pastor David Bailey.

Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Mr. Myrtles grandsons, Ethan Whitlock, Jeremy Whitlock and Ryan Fitzgerald, J. B. Broughman, Richard Coffman and Joe Heizer.

Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews attending the service.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1307 West Beverly Street, Staunton, Virginia 24401.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
