James William Jordan, 82, of Stuarts Draft, widower of Joan Carol Jordan, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 in the Hospice of the Piedmont, Charlottesville.
Mr. Jordan was born on July 12, 1933 in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Hartwell Chamberlain and step-mother Frances (Pullin) Jordan.
James was a proud United States Navy veteran. He retired as a firefighter for the Fairfax Fire Department, after retirement he actively continued volunteering and was also active in the Stuarts Draft Retirement Community.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Shaw and her husband Andy of Waynesboro, Carol Jordan and her significant other Rob Reffner of Staunton and Cathy Kuykendall and her husband Keith of Delaware; a step-son, Bob Hersey of Fairfax; a sister, Shirley Back of West Virginia; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
A Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the Stuarts Draft Retirement Community, 94 Mountain Vista Drive, Stuarts Draft, Virginia 24477.
