James David Landes, Jr., 71, of Nellysford, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
He was born on September 10, 1949, a son of the late James David Landes, Sr. and Regis (Yaple) Landes.
Jim graduated as a member of the 1967 class of Waynesboro High School and earned a degree from Old Dominion University in 1977. He worked in retail management throughout Virginia and California, eventually returning to Waynesboro as business owner of a branch of Jackson Hewitt. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time in the mountains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Short, and his brother, Teddy Landes.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Landes and Ashley Landes; his siblings, Karen Landes, Linda Dundas, Philip Landes, and Kathy Toms; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Staunton.
Burial will be private at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro.
