James Henry "Jay" Charles, 57, of Crimora, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Mr. Charles was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 15, 1965, the son of the late Halsey Charles and Lillie Alma (Elick) Charles.

Jay loved music, studying genealogy and ancient history, and was an art enthusiast.

Surviving, are two aunts, Georgia Fitzgerald and Maxine Burks; an uncle, Oliver Charles; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Augusta Memorial Park by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
