James Leo Green, 90, widower of Ruby Virginia (Tolley) Green of 961 Moffett Branch Road, Churchville passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
James was born in Douglas, West Virginia on May 21, 1930, a son of the late Lomo McClellen Green, Sr. and Rady Ann (Weese) Green.
Mr. Green was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. James also attended Parnassus United Methodist Church where he taught the Young Adult Sunday School class, he served on various boards of the United Methodist Churches and was one of the founding members of the Harrisonburg District United Methodist Men. He retired from the Pat Berrang Car Dealership where he was employed as Parts Manager.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Lomo M., Jr., John, and Wayne Green; and a sister, Lucille Randolph.
Mr. Green was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are three daughters, Mona Kay (Green) Huffer and husband Steve of Churchville, Linda (Green) Newman of Ruckersville, and Lois (Green) Fay and husband Richard of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Lee Green; five grandchildren, Nicholas Huffer and wife Rebecca, Travis Huffer, Logan Newman and fiance Emily Frasier, Caitlin Smith and husband, Christopher, and Ali Fay; three great-grandchildren, Madison Huffer, Mason Huffer, and August Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Those desiring may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 in the Green Hill Cemetery by Pastors Vicki Barb and James Harris.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Active pallbearers will be David Sorrells, Donald "Don Don" Green, Dee Hoover, Wayne Wymer, Dwayne Buchanan, Michael Buchanan, Kirk Wagner, and Ben Wagner.
