James 'Jim' Edward Williams's Obituary

James Edward Jim Williams, 72, of Fishersville went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He passed away at his home.
Mr. Williams was born October 1, 1942 in Waynesboro to the late Charles Berry and Julia Margaret (Brown) Williams. Jim was married to Flora Diehl Davis on December 15, 1990.
Jim served in the United States Air Force for four years. He then worked for Bell Systems Phone Company and later for AT\u0026T/Lucent Technologies as a computer technician. He retired from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center where he also worked as a computer technician.
Jim was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Fishersville where he served faithfully as Adult Sunday School teacher for many years. He served as Troop Leader for his sons Boy Scout Troop. He was a former member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church where he was an active youth group leader. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his shop. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Flora Williams. Other survivors include his sister, Jean Diehl; his children James Michael Williams of Stuarts Draft, VA, Heather Carol Williams of Longmont, CO, Julie Ann Smith and husband Brad of Dayton, VA, and Laurie Davis Rincker and husband Mike of Berea, KY; grandsons, Jared, Nathan and Noah Smith and Seth and Bryce Rincker; and great nephews Grayson and Luke Jordan.
The family would like to thank Jims caregivers, especially those who were with him over the past few months including Patsy Halterman, Crystal Hedrick, Sharon Meditz, Tammy Lawson, Ashanti Samuel and Nicole and Curtis Watson. The family is grateful for the support of Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially Jims nurse Joey Mooneyham and volunteers Martha Erickson and Dave Matheny.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church in Fishersville, VA.
Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be his nephews attending the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Cash, Giles Lester, John Kelso, Alvin Diehl, David Diehl, Ivan Diehl, Sam Diehl, Johnny Grove, and Scott Childress.
