James Leo Crummett, 75, husband of Linda Fay (Hogsett) Crummett, of Mount Sidney, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Crummett was born in Staunton, Virginia on March 26, 1949, a son of the late Glenn Harold Crummett, Sr. and Leona (Simmons) Crummett.

James retired from AccuTec, Inc. in 2020 as a tool and die maker. He was an active member of the Verona Moose Lodge 2172 and found joy in spending time outdoors, dancing, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crummett was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn H. Crummett, Jr.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, are two daughters, Cindy M. Crummett (Tracie Tuck) of Harrisonburg and Robyn L. Salamat and her husband, JP of Mount Sidney; two grandchildren, Sydney Salamat and Olivia Salamat; a brother, Billy Crummett and his wife, Terrie of Portsmouth; and three sisters, Abbie Andes of Verona, Margaret Chrisman and her husband, Tom of Mount Sidney, and Carol Johnson and her husband, Doug of Stuarts Draft.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
