James Kenton Jimmy Alphin, Jr., 55, widower of Martha (Miller)Alphin, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Alphin was born on December 21, 1958 in New London, CT., a son of James K. Alphin, Sr. and the late Peggy Jo (Hunter) Alphin.
Jimmy was a longtime member of the New Market Lighthouse Tabernacle and was employed by RR Donnelley as a machine operator. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed going to church.
In addition to his mother and wife, Mr. Alphin was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Goldie Mae Hunter.
Surviving in addition to his father and step-mother, Sharon Alphin of Staunton is his special companion, Teresa C. Wilson of Elkton and her four daughters, Alicia Jenkins and her daughter, Adalynn Grace; Kayla Fay, Valerie Renae and Cheyenne Elizabeth; a brother, Timmy Alphin and his wife Stephanie of Goshen; a brother-in-law, Bill Miller; a step-sister, April Corbin and her husband Billy of Fishersville and an aunt, Patsy Knight of Goshen. Jimmy is also survived by his extended family, Rev. Charles Clinedinst and Rev. Charles Steven Clinedinst; special friend, Mitch Dorman and a number of cousins and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at the New Market Lighthouse Tabernacle, 9394 George Collins Road, New Market, VA 22844 with a Celebration of life to be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the church by Rev. Charles Clinedinst, Rev. Charles Steven Clinedinst, Rev. Oliver Bowles and Rev. Howard Miller.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Little River Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Goshen.
Active pallbearers will be Bucky Ingram, John Aleknas, Gary Payne, Carl Clinedinst, Alvin Shelton, Darrell Kite, and John "Bobby" Garber.
Honorary pallbearer will be Rev. Charles S. Clinedinst.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
