Jacob Charles "Jake" Jarvis, 84, husband of Mildred Irene "Millie" (Brown) Jarvis of Middlebrook Road, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Jake was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on March 12, 1937, a son of the late John Jacob and Viola Freedom (Sensabaugh) Jarvis.
Mr. Jarvis farmed in the Middlebrook community for most of his life. Prior to farming, Jake worked with his uncles, Norman and Raymond Sensabaugh in the body and fender business. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed cutting wood, had a love for coon hunting, deer hunting, and small game. Most importantly, he had a very special love for his granddaughter, Brielle Jarvis.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jarvis was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Wayne, Raymond, and John "Junior" Jarvis; five sisters, Elizabeth Grimm, Stella Jarvis, Frances Oliver, Geneva Mader, and Jean Tuennermann.
Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-one years, is a son, Todd Jacob Jarvis and his wife Jessica; a granddaughter, Brielle Jarvis of Staunton; step-daughter, Terry R. Rohr and her husband Terry of Staunton; step-son, Tony M. Robinson and his wife Vanessa of Pueblo, Colorado; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Lail and her husband Thomas and Aaron Rohr; three step-great-grandchildren, Kayden Rohr, Macie Lail, and Josie Lail; sister-in-law, Helen Jarvis of Middlebrook; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Immanuel Presbyterian Church by Pastor Larry Strickler.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dale Grimm, David Grimm, Danny Grimm, Jeff Tuennermann, Steve Tuennermann, Jerry Jarvis, and Johnny Mader.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg, Neal and Jeff Buchanan.

The family will like to extend a special "Thank You" to Dr. John Marsh and staff and the Augusta Health Respiratory Care Department for the care given to Jake.
