Jackie Beale Jack Shifflett, 64, husband of Dianna Marie (Stanley) Shifflett of 504 Ellendin Avenue passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mr. Shifflett was born on October 1, 1952 in Crozet, Virginia, a son of the late Arthur Clarence, Sr. and Mary (Layne) Shifflett.
Jack was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and he was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Jack was employed by Phillips Communications (Virginia Power Motor Sports) where he was employed as a mechanic. Mr. Shifflett was a man with a strong work ethic and was a very generous man. He enjoyed working on farm tractors, watching Fox News, and playing with Hunter, his grand dog.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty years, is a son, Bryan W. Shifflett and his fiance Allison Stillians of Page, AZ; a daughter, Felicia (Shifflett) Mays and her husband Colby of Amherst; three brothers, Arthur Shifflett, Jr. of IL, David Shifflett of Ruckersville and Michael Shifflett of Woodbridge; three sisters, Joyce Morris of Crozet, Linda Youhess of Palmyra and Susan Shifflett of Charlottesville; father-in-law, Lloyd Stanley and wife Agnes and his mother-in-law, Retha Harbin all of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 in Augusta Memorial Park with A Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church by Pastor John Crawford, III.
