Ileen Swisher Galford
STAUNTON
Ileen (Lilley) Swisher Galford, 82, wife of Eldon G. Galford, Sr. of 25 West Park View Lane, Staunton passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Kings Daughters Community Health \u0026 Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Galford was born February 10, 1930 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Glen Franklin and Myrtle Lula (Ludwig) Lilley.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by A\u0026P Grocery in Staunton with 28 years of service. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Ileen enjoyed collecting antique dishes and baking cakes, especially at Christmas time.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Henry Swisher on May 21, 2002; six brothers, Raymond, Bob, Mike, Larry, Roy and Jim Lilley and two sisters, Mary Higgs and Shirley Wilkins.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Frank Swisher and wife JoAnn, and Rodger Swisher and wife Janet; a grandson, Shawn Swisher and wife Melissa Sumner; a granddaughter, Jessica McGhee and husband Sam; and one great granddaughter, Abigail McGhee, all of Staunton; two sisters, Mabel Arehart and companion Robert Tanner and Beulah Swisher both of Stuarts Draft; special cousins, Wallace and Juanita Poole of Brownsburg, a special niece, Janet Sellers of Harrisonburg and her husbands children, Eldon Galford, Jr. and wife Renie, Sharon Puffenbarger and husband Roy, Patricia Galford and granddaughter, Dianna Clemmer and her husband Tim.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012 in Mount Herman Cemetery, Middlebrook by Pastor Robert Edwards.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at their respective residences.
