Ida Mae (Boedecker) Foster, 78, wife of Melvin Philip Foster of Staunton passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Foster was born on January 27, 1936, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Conrad and Pearl (Orcutt) Boedecker.
Ida was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from the Treasurers Office for the City of Staunton and then worked part time for the Office of the Registrar for the past fifteen years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann (Foster) Whitescarver; two brothers, Eugene Boedecker and Conrad Willis Boedecker; and two sisters, Phyllis Simpson and Doris Young.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her loving husband; three daughters, Sarah F. Marbert and her husband, Brian of Centreville, Gretchen F. Robertson and her husband, Stuart of Roanoke, and Molly F. Stinespring and her husband, Jeff of Waynesboro; a brother, Arthur Boedecker of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, Kayla E. Marbert, Jacqueline Stevenson, Taylor Robertson, Chase Robertson, and Blake Stinespring; and a large extended family of in-laws as well as nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014, in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory by Pastor Wade Munford.
The family will receive friends immediately follow the service.
Private graveside service will be held at Morningside Cemetery in Renick, WV.
