Obituary

Howard Franklin Bill Wood, I, 67, husband of Linda Wood of 34 Ashton Drive, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Wood was born on March 24, 1949 in Waynesboro, Virginia, a son of the late Lertie Page, Sr. and Annie Bell (Carter) Wood.
Howard attended Fishersville Baptist Church and retired in 2016 from McDonough Toyota as a reconditioning manager and Martins Foods. He enjoyed fishing, coaching Little League Baseball, pitching horseshoes, and collecting hats.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 47 years, are two sons, Howard F. Wood, II and his wife Barbara of Greenville, and Mitch D. Wood and his wife Stephanie of Waynesboro; two daughters, Trease W. Hatter and her husband Mark, I, and Tammy M. Farrar both of Waynesboro; a brother, Lertie P. Wood, Jr; two sisters, Mary W. Allen and her husband Carl of Dooms, and Betsy W. Earley and her husband Walter of Stuarts Draft; mother-in-law, Mary Dudley of Waynesboro; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special aunt and uncle, Mary and Paul Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the Augusta Memorial Park by Rev. Peter Grimm and Rev. Dwight Roetteo.
The family will receive friends following the service.
