Howard Herbert Lamb, 88, of West Augusta, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Brookdale Senior Living in Staunton.
Mr. Lamb was born on March 21, 1928 in Fincastle, Virginia, a son of the late Hunter Howard and Cora (Crawford) Lamb.
Howard was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII and retired in 1985 from Vepco (Dominion Virginia Power) as a Service Technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to yard sales.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Howard E. Lamb and David E. Lamb; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving is his former wife and mother of his children, Stella Riley; two sons, Michael E. Lamb and his wife Deborah and Kenneth E. Lamb; three grandchildren, Evan Lamb, Caitlin (Lamb) Fahey and her husband James, and Colleen Lamb; one great-grandchild, Norah Lamb; and a special friend, Barbara Counts; a half-sister; and his faithful pet cat, Rascal also survive.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Judy Hensley.
Burial will follow in Swope Lane Cemetery, Fairfield, Virginia.
