Holly Marie Newlen

Holly Marie Newlen, 16, of 48 Ruger Lane, Swoope, and daughter of Ricky A. and Julie B. Newlen, moved to her heavenly home at 2:58 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2009 in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
Holly was born on December 5, 1992 and spent her 16 years getting the most out of every day, loving her family and friends and having joy in living in spite of health challenges. Holly was a member of Lighthouse Church and a sophomore at Buffalo Gap High School; being taught at home by her wonderful teacher/friend, Phillip Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grand parents, Edward Bryan and Delores (Robertson) Newlen, great-great grandparents, Joseph and Ethel Lawson and cousin, Kaleb Anthony Bosserman.
In addition to her parents Holly is survived by two brothers, Nathan A. Newlen and his wife and special sister to Holly, Alicia of Verona and Jeremy W. Newlen at home; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Faye Bosserman of Swoope; maternal great-grandparents, Ivan and Mareta Marshall of Swoope; a close aunt and uncle, Tony and Michelle Bosserman of Swoope; special cousins Hannah and Abby Bosserman; paternal step-grandmother, Roxanne Newlen of Staunton, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Holly also leaves behind her precious little dog, Zoey Bella Marie.
A celebration of Hollys life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2009) in the Lighthouse Church by the Reverends Harold Wade, Phillip Morgan and Kevin Persinger.
Interment will be in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her father Ricky Newlen, two brothers, Jeremy W. Newlen, Nathan A. Newlen, grandfather Jerry Bosserman, and uncles Darrell Marshall and Tony Bosserman.
The family will receive friends in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 and other times at the home of her grandparents, Jerry and Faye Bosserman, 72 Ruger Lane, Swoope.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
