Herbert Franklin "Frank" Hildebrand, 88, widower of Shirley Ann (Fridley) Hildebrand, of Lone Oak Lane, Staunton and formerly of Craigsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Frank was born in Craigsville, Virginia on October 7, 1932, a son of the late Harry McKinley and Callie S. Hildebrand.
Frank attended Craigsville Southern Baptist Church and retired from the City of Staunton where he was employed as a Code Inspector. Frank enjoyed fishing and hunting with his boys, umpiring girls' softball, and coaching Little League baseball.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hildebrand was preceded in death by two sons, Brian Keith Hildebrand and Bruce Franklin Hildebrand; two daughters-in-law, Kathy B. Hildebrand and Gale Lyle (Alphin) Hildebrand; six brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Hildebrand was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are two sons, Robert E. "Bobby" Hildebrand and his wife Tanny of Churchville and Barry W. Hildebrand and his fiance, Maria Dusseault of Staunton; a daughter, Mary Patricia "Pat" Hamblin of Staunton; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a number of great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021 at Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
