Henry Calvin Minter, 71, husband of Nancy (Kelso) Minter of 5479 Little Calf Pasture Highway, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mr. Minter was born on January 25, 1943, in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Thomas Franklin, Sr. and Lina (Staples) Minter.

Henry was a member of the Goshen Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Craigsville High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Minter retired in 2008 from McQuay International where he was employed as a machinist. Henry was a very kind and caring man, whose heart showed his love for his Lord and fellow man. He was a friend to many.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Minter was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Lee Minter.

Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-six years is a son, Robbie D Gordon and his wife Carolyn of Goshen; a brother, Thomas F. Tommy Minter, Jr. and his wife Sally of Goshen; a sister, Naomi (Minter) Dill and her husband Dorsey of Goshen; two grandchildren, Heather Woods and her husband Clint and Christopher Gordon; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Woods and Landon Woods and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In honoring Mr. Minters request, A Graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday August 3, 2014 in the Craigsville Memorial Cemetery by Dr. John H. Haney and there will be no public viewing.

Active pallbearers will be Ralph Lee Minter, Donald F. Minter, Dorsey G. Dill, Jr., Bruce W. Kelso, John L. Kelso, Jr., Michael W. Kelso, Robert W. Kelso, Jr., and Steve Norcross.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Craigsville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 37, Craigsville, Virginia 24430 or the Goshen Presbyterian Church, 139 Big River Road, Goshen, Virginia 22939.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
