Henry Cabell Fitzgerald, 71, of 865 Patton Farm Road, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born on July 26, 1946 in Montebello, a son of the late Issac Harrison Fitzgerald and Martha (Phillips) Fitzgerald Mays.
Henry was a member of the Stuarts Draft Full Gospel Church and was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed helping others, attending hymn sings, he enjoyed Bluegrass music and Ginsenging.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded by two sisters, Charlotte G. Fitzgerald and Neola H. Fitzgerald; and a brother, Earl Fitzgerald.
With the love and kindness of his care giver Cindy G. Harmon, Mr. Fitzgerald was able to remain in his home and have his final wishes and request fulfilled.
Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by a brother, Lynwood Fitzgerald of Staunton; three sisters, Wyonna Hamilton of Buena Vista, Shirley Benjamin of Staunton, and Clair Straw, of North Carolina; special friend, companion and neighbor Betty (East) Gibson; a nephew, Junior Phillips; and a niece, Cheryl (Fitzgerald) Moore.
Henrys prayer was that all be saved by the grace of God and that everyone could meet again in Heaven.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor William Watson.
Burial will follow in Haines Chapel Cemetery in Rockbridge County.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their kindness and loving care shown to Mr. Fitzgerald during his illness.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
