Helen G. Dobzeniecki
STAUNTON:
Helen Barbara (Gurney) Dobzeniecki, 78, widow of Adam Paul Dobzeniecki, Sr. of 905 Reaper Road, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Dobzeniecki was born October 25, 1931 in Long Island, N.Y., a daughter of the late Fred and Helen (Lefferts) Gurney.
Helen worked fifteen years as a cashier for CVS Pharmacy and she attended Destiny Family Center. She was a very dedicated Mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Balsamo and a son, Adam Paul Dobzeniecki, Jr.
Mrs. Dobzeniecki was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan Susie Dobzeniecki of Long Island, N.Y., Judy McVey and her husband Allen,
Sherry L. Briggs and her husband Joe, all of Staunton, and Kim Corella and her husband Mike of Portage, ME; a special daughter-in-law, Jodi A. Dobzeniecki and son-in-law, Chuck Balsamo, Sr.; ten grandchildren, Chuck Balsamo, Jr., Jason Balsamo, Helen B. Reese. Melissa Briggs, Mikey Corella, Jim Briggs, A. J. Dobzeniecki, III, Katie Dobzeniecki, Teddy McVey and Mark Corella; seven great-grandchildren; a cousin, Rick Gurney and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. this evening, October 8, 2010 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 in the Destiny Family Center in Stuarts Draft by her grandson, Chuck Balsamo, Jr.
Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Balsamo, Mikey Corella, Jim Briggs, A.J. Dobzeniecki, III, Teddy McVey and Mark Corella.
Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters and friends from CVS Pharmacy.
It is suggested those desiring to make memorial contributions to Hospice of the Shenandoah, 111 North Campus Lane, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
