Hazel Mae (Sensabaugh) Nutty, 76, of Staunton, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at her residence.

Ms. Nutty was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 21, 1947, a daughter of the late William Earman and Ethel Mae (Lambert) Sensabaugh.

Hazel retired as a CNA from Western State Hospital in 2003. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and her pet birds, "Kai" and "Hokie".

Ms. Nutty will be remembered most for her willingness to help others and "always being there" for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Nutty was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Turner and a sister-in-law, Norma Sensabaugh.

Surviving, is a daughter, Lisa Welcher of Staunton; a step-daughter, Stefanie Jones of Staunton; a step-son, Mykel Nutty of Staunton; a sister, Mary Jo Benson of Fishersville; a brother, William Sensabaugh of Martinsburg, West Virginia; and a niece, Rene' Skone and her husband, Brian.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
